LOL! - I'll take that as a compliment... thanks :)

Yeah as soon as I get all 4 on there I'll get some more pics up...am also looking for a set of reasonably priced coilovers now...and I have to pic up the tin of left over paint from the painter... damn speedbump - it was the size of everest! Apparently the scrape isn't visible but I can bloodywell see it. :-)

Hmm - getting coilovers to RAISE the height of your FTO - thats a new one on me! :?
Even at max height a set of adjustable coilovers would likely be lower than Apex springs.
Wouldn't a set of standard springs and KYB dampers achieve the required ride height for a lot less money?

TBH - if your front splitter is too low then change it rather than going down the road of adjusting/changing your suspension to suit. Bite the bullet and spend your money to either change the front splitter - http://www.rb-performance.co.uk/catalog ... cts_id/491

or change to a HKS front bumper - http://www.rb-performance.co.uk/catalog ... ucts_id/80

Both of the above will be much higher than your present bumper - You know it makes sense. :smt002

I'd go along with MfFTO on this one. Personally, I would only ever use that bumper on a showcar, its very impactical and you will end up spending money on a repair job at some point.

LOL..To be fair dave actaully drove into stuff when he needed to repair his..
Changing the front splitter isn't an option as the one thats on is moulded (and he didn't do a bad job either..).

I think standard springs would overshoot the mark..I'm going to change the suspension anyways cause what I have on there now is OLD - So I'll try that first (thanks for your input tho guys).

The HKS bumper - it's alright, but tbh I'd prefer the facelift bumper or a speedbozz ..

Somebody here has a speedbozz - does that sit much lower than a facelift?

The Bozz is very low as well - wouldn't be much in it versus what you have on at the minute. Lovely looking bumper though. Not sure a facelift bumper would suit the look of your FTO - hence the HKS suggestion.

Yeah Im not sure a facelift would match either...actually went out to have a look..the shapes would be all wrong.. bah
The HKS bumper has squareish holes in the front... and the dc skirts have round ones... bah bah

humbug

How about high tension springs? does anybody here have a set on?

Gave it the beans on the track over the weekend... Didn't scrape it once... and the track I was on was fairly uneven..

My thinking is that I may actually get away with simply fitting stiffer shocks.. So I've just ordered a full set of KYB adjustables through Camskill.
Also finally ordered those darn tyres...can be showing up at the next meet with mismatched alloys on a newly sprayed car..it just wont do..

I know..the new trend must be to show up in a relatively decent looking example... I may even clean it..Wheels wont be black tho..

and by the way

YOU were the one who said "Next time you bring that car to a meet make sure it's all the same color"..so I blame you for me not having the car for xx months..

I presume you're doing the rear plugs as well while you are installing the leads ?

Wait until you hear the difference this combination makes between 3k-4.5k RPM. Definitely worthwhile.

I have Denso Iridiums in there with practically no miles on them - but I was going to take them out ;check the condition and give them a clean.
had been planning to the replace the plugs leads before I handed the car in but never got around to it, and sold my leads in the meantime (to the one with many ftos the we always read about..)..at the time I hadn't realised that the blue leads aren't as "thick" as the red ones...
The leads that are on there now are working perfectly...I'd just rather replace them and have peace of mind...they are from 95 like..

In the same vein I've just ordered new radiator hoses..Cant have those puppies bursting on me...I remember reading a story about (I think it was TheBull & CJ) emergency repairs with clingfilm and cable ties...

Really looking forward to getting the suspension on the road..When last I was looking to buy Kyb shocks I was offered a set of rear ones at a bargain price..but they had clearly served their time..so upon inspection I declined... the shocks I have on the car are working..but once again they are from 95, so I expect a fresh set will sharpen it up somewhat..

My thinking is..If I'm goign to be driving the fto for the next few years anyways..and I think I will as I'm rapidly falling in love all over again.. I might as well do it properly.

Nope.. I haven't had a chance to do anything..in fact I'm only back in the country a big over a week..and on day five I banged my head (hard) and put out my back, so it will be another while before the replacement bumper goes on and gets painted.

There's a pile of other bits I have yet to install - but at least it would appear that my new brake calipers FINALLY arrived.
