3.09 kg of carbon dioxide is produced by burning 1 kg of octane
1685.5 litres of carbon dioxide are produced by burning 1 kg of octane
1183 litres of carbon dioxide are produced by burning 1 litre of octane"
Should be able to work out VR-4 CO2 emissions from the above and our mpg figure (assuming stoichimetric AFR)
Assuming an MPG of 20:
Miles to km conversion factor 1.61
km/G 32.19
G to L conversion factor 4.55
km/L 7.08
L burned in 1km 0.14124
Octane Density 0.70200 kg/l
kg burned in 1km 0.0992
kg CO2 per kg octane burned 3.0900
kg CO2 per km 0.3064
g/km 306.4

Interesting - BUT - the above calculation doesn't take into account the efficency of the fuel burn and Cat/exhaust efficiency etc. I reckon it could easily exceed the 226CO2 per km max tax band when it comes in.
