tried 123.ie about a month ago and was told that they wont insure an fto.insurance companies give me a severe pain in the rear , you get a different person every time and a different answer every time.they just dont like FTOs or it could be just me they dont like

cheers anyway

According to my original Japanese facelift FTO catalogue, 2L is 180bhp, 2L mivec is 200bhp and 1.8 is 125bhp. Haven't a clue what most of it says but there's some english words under pictures and the numbers are the same luckily!

Those are flywheel figures of course, a tip is going to have less at the wheels than a manual.

Should have mentioned, I know the facelift 2Ls added 10bhp but I dunno if that applies to the 1.8GS, I'm thinking no?

Correct, no change in facelift GS power, 125PS as standard.

dikdastardly, I used to drive a GS a few years back, when I found out that my premium wouldn't go up in the event that I changed to a V6 model, I went out sharpish and picked me up a GPX :)

I don't know if all insurance companies still group all models of FTO together these days, I would guess there would be very little difference if in the quotes if they did.

I wouldn't say only... 125bhp is still a fair bit if you compare it to other cars you can get for similar money..
My old civic was rated at 115bhp or 119 depending on where I looked..it was a big heavy car (saloon) but it was still able to move...

I agree it's not bad, but when you compare it to the V6's it's way down and a car that looks this 8) 125bhp is a bit
