Anyone with Apex springs fitted.....

Postby colm_mcm » Tue Apr 21, 2009 4:48 pm

Could you measure the distance from the centre of the wheel to the wheelarch?

I suspect my shocks are making the rear of the car lower than it should be. the springs haven't settled yet, but I don't think I'll have that wedge profile I was looking for from the Apex springs. I have another pair of shocks from the Tip GR that I can fit instead if it's the shocks that are affecting it.

I thought the whole principle of the suspension was that the car's weight is sitting on the springs, and the "shocks" or shock absorbers, are there to do just that, absorb impacts and damp the springing effect?

By that reasoning, would the shocks then have nothing to do with the ride height?

How heavy is the sub you installed?

Logically the springs should decide the height.

Measured it to 13.5 inches both front and back, or just over 34cm if you prefer.
