I'm gonna run a book on how long it takes Seb to have a go at doing that...
Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

I'm gonna give this a lash, it'll probably be summer by the time they're actually working though!

Given the amount of work involved I'd rather wait the extra few minutes.

Just a point to note on this mod. There is no mention of a thermostat to cut the heater out at temp.
The pads in question can heat up to 200 celcius. so if you leave the rear heater switch on for a long time I would think thet damage would occur.

I must have a look at the wiring diagrams as I dont think the rear defogger has a built in stat as it is spread over a large area.

JUst had a look at the wiring and there is no stat cutout on the OEM defogger. So I think a stat would be in order for this install.

I wouldn't say they'd operate at 200 degrees if they were stick to a mirror glass? as in the glass wouldn't be that temperature.

GR4CE on the uk forum has this mod. will ask what the craic is.

I'm here :D
Glad you liked the guide. It is very comprehensive because after having had to guess what I had to do from many cryptic answers I thought I'd make the job easier for the rest
The pads only heat up to about 40ºC and my rear heater has a timer so it's only on for approx. 15 minutes.
I've heard, though, that not all go off after a certain time, so I'm not sure if it's just because the timer doesn't work or there is a difference between facelift (as mine) and pre-facelift.
I've had no problems at all and they work a treat :D
