Common as muck

Postby pergau » Fri Oct 28, 2005 1:35 pm

Went shopping in superquinn Lucan last night and when I got back to the car, I was balancing bags and a box and trying to get the keys out of my pocket. but when I finally got to the keys, they wouldn't open the car.
Eventually I figured out that I was standing at the wrong FTO in the car park.

Two fto's went past me yesterday after work on the Tallaght road. so there were three of us in a row!! Felt like a mini meet. A black GR with Standard spoiler (Male Driver) and a Silver GR i think with Version R spoiler (Lady Driver). Tried to get attention but Shunned so introduced them to the Mivec ... adios

Or you need a C/L alarm. Only ever done that in the states in a rented car, won't mind wasn't even the right make of car, just has a similar colour. Went out stood beside it and pressed the button, and the car behind me flashed and bleeped.

Must say though, never have that problem here! Not with my car anyways :)

I'm starting to notice more an more FTOs around the Ashbourne/Rathoath/Drogheda area..

I spotted one sitting outside the local "scrapper" the other day.
I appreciate that the FTO is nothing short of an AMAZING ride - but - dammit - what is the story ..why are they all over the shop all of a sudden?

What does one have to do to drive something that isn't "ordinary"? Build it???
Of course my P&J stands out for all the wrong reasons these days - crushed tails and rear bumper - but that's not really the uniqueness I want.

I'm not so sure I'd call the FTO common - I'd say it's still a pretty rare car but you just "spot" them much more easily because they stand out so much more from other cars......

True..

...Loads more Golfs, Civics,Meganes, Primeras, Almeras,206s, Puntos on the roads...

The FTO does still stand out - and I certianly didn't notice as many before I bought one myself.
