OK guys. Really good news. I got a reply back from DR Auto up north. I have requested a quote for 45 litres of prep and 45 litres of coolant, which is enough for 6 cars, based on 2 people sharing 3 bottles of each fluid. So, to cut to the chase, I have a price, which i've rounded up to the nearest €10 for currency flux what not. Each person will only pay €110 all in. We only need 6 people for this, but of course, more are welcome.
If we end up with an uneven number, I will take the price hit, which will be greatly dampened because the exact price on todays exchange rate is actually €106.40, leaving €3.60 over. I am hoping to get the price down to €100 per head if they do free UK delivery to my Parcel Motel account. I reckon 3, or 4 boxes at €3.50 a box is better than £75 delivery. The email I received is and my reply is below. I will reignite the list. I would really like to order by the end of next week, so I will be able to bring some of the stuff to you guys at the December 1st meet. I am happy enough to deliver to anyone along the way, who isn't coming to the meet and maybe others coming to the meet can take deliveries off me for members close to them. Basically, it makes logistical sense to order next Friday. €110 is pretty good. Email below, followed by my breakdown.
Hi Gary ,
Thanks for your email , we would be happy to take the VAT off the sale amount for you , to do this we would need your IE VAT number and a copy of your business headed paper (emailed ). What is the nature of your business if you dont mind me asking ?
The requested prices are below
45 litres of powercool - £270.65 ex VAT.
45 litres of powerprep - £166.45 ex VAT
Delivery to Dublin is £15 per box @20 Kilos = £75.00
Total Cost £512.10
I hope this is of help to you and hope to deal with you soon
Thanks
David
MY REPLY
Thanks David. That works out slightly less than the UK firm. I will get the gang together and hopefully will be placing an order very soon. It can take time to get these guys paid up as you know. I believe you can do free UK delivery based on the phone conversation I had. The reason I say this, is because I have a Nightline Courier Account, which offers me delivery of boxes of up to 41 X 38 X 64 cm in size for only €3.50 per delivery. I regularly get cheap UK to ROI delivery with this service. Their northern office is in Belfast and they would transfer my deliveries to a secure locker near my home for that low cost. I would imagine that 3, or 4 boxes near this size would be enough to fit 18 five litre bottles into, which would massively reduce the cost of delivery by more than £50. Can you confirm if you can still offer free UK delivery?
My IE VAT number is <snip>. I practice clinical hypnotherapy, but I also run a small building, maintenance and cleaning company and I build websites too. Thanks again for coming back to me. Even without the lowered cost of delivery, I imagine the lads will be pleased I could find somewhee cheaper.
Regards,
Gary T. McGrath
SO. THE BREAK DOWN.
45 litres of powercool - £270.65 ex VAT. (£30.07 per 5 litres. Round to £45.15 per 7.5 litres)
45 litres of powerprep - £166.45 ex VAT (£18.49 per 5 litres. Round to £27.75 per 7.5 litres)
Delivery to Dublin is £15 per box @20 Kilos = £75.00 (divided by 6 is rounded to £12.50) Hoping to knock €10 off this per head, but lets assume the current figures.
TOTAL = £84.40 exchanged to €106.40 and rounded to €110 per head. We were paying nearly the same for only 5 litres of each from Evans.
If anyone did want 10 litres of each, it would cost €160
