NEVER EVER try this at home

Postby d_dan » Fri Dec 12, 2008 12:15 am

I tackeled the job of changing my heater matrix today. Taking a nice break from looking up at the engine and the smell of WD40

And by god is it a hell of a job. not hard but just so messy,
Dash out, everything. and worst is! i cant get the fecking aircon unit to fit propperly back in,

On the bright side i got to wire in my strobe lights in through the firewall,
and also got to hook up the turbo timer and boost controller properly and neatly

I think the A/C unit and the matrix have to be joined together before fitting?

Precisely why, in my case, I handed the reins on this one to Paul Nolan.

Can you believe that some guys have actually succeeded in performing this work through the glove box without taking out the dash !!

It's tricky enough even with the dash out!

Yea you need to have done it before to see how.to take it out without taking out the dash.

- recon I could take it out again in a fraction of the time. One screw and a small bit of force and. You would have it out
