REALLY cheap HID lights

Postby Muad_dib77 » Wed Aug 01, 2007 5:30 pm

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/XENON-HI ... dZViewItem

45usd for the kit - 50usd shipping - works out at around 80euros all in.
BY FAR the cheapest kit I have seen - I know nothing about the quality, I haven't bought any of these myself..yet.
I had a quick look at the feedback of the seller and he appears legit..

If there's any interest it might be an idea to bulk order - I'm seriously considering getting a set for my high-beams..

I have to say YES :D, nice mod, better visibility(safety) and look awsome in purple 8)
Just one question... is it legal? I mean NCT and blablabla cops on the road.
I heard meny different opinion that HIDs have to have a proper lampshade becouse if not they are too bright for the other drivers.

As far as I'm aware the only restriction is that they can't be too blue - but apparetly thats a subjective matter. Personally I wouldn't go any bluer than 8k..
I've gotten stopped with my 8k bulbs in a the garda-man didn't say anything at all. (I drive with the lights on even when it's bright; it's proven to reduce road fatalities..)

Ok so here's the list this far..

When adding yourself to the list please specify what temperature you would like.

Should we wait until someone ships in a single set and gets installed and pics posted before loads of us commit to some potential scheisters in the US ?

Could also negotiate a better price then if they are good and we have lots of people interested.

What do you think ?

I've done all the research I can do on the seller - he looks legit.

Besides - if a payment is processed through PayPal - the product arrives and is basically not as described (ie not working) - it's handy enough to recover funds..

Another security measure to ALWAYS take when placing large orders of anything is to pay via CreditCard this gives you 6 months to arrange a charge back if the seller should decide too run off with your dosh.

I'm happy if somebody wants to be guinea pig - but I'm also happy to place the order as previously mentioned..

There's no saying that this has to be the last order..

9006 (or HB3 I think, its either HB3 or HB4) for the dipped beam.

I have HIDs on my dipped beam and I'll leave the others for the moment, but I reckon you should definately get a set to try out before committing to a group buy. Its probably that cheap for a reason.

I bought a few sets of LEDs off ebay to match up with my HIDs (HIDs were nice and white, and sidelights were browny yellow) but while they worked, they were pretty dull and basically rubbish so I eventually just got a proper set somewhere else. Cost more but were what I wanted in the first place anyway.
