Very unusual one..... I have inherited a strange problem guys and have not seen anyone with this before to my knowledge....
In first or second gear, when I floor it up through the rev band the car sometimes is a tiny bit sluggish, then when I hit about 4k, it surges with power up to about 4.5k (almost jumping from 4k to 4.5k) and continues up fine through the rev band. It's as if something is sticking or one of the cylinders is not firing until I get up to about 4k.
This doesn't seem to happen all of the time (I think) but even happens even after a long spirited drive so doesn't seem to have anything to do with the car not being warmed up enough.
One of the things I am thinking of at present is one of the spark plugs not working correctly and causing car to fire on 5 cyls until 6th one then kicks in. Also thought it could be throttle sticking somehow, but I don't really think it is this either.
Thought I'd check in first before asking Paul Nolan for his opinion.
This has only happened since Paul replaced my water pump and heater matrix, but should not be related to either of those two things.
