finally fitted my new springs .

Postby gary d » Sun May 24, 2009 11:49 pm

I finally fitted my Apex springs today, well chuffed with the result :D Have her booked in to OMA tuning to fit and set up the camber bolts, 4 wheel alignment and new track rod ends. allmost have her exactly how I want, still debating whether to get a set of enkei's or stick with the standrd rims. I'll know better once I refurb my standard rims whether to stick or twist

I'm refurbing them myself, I have access to a shotblaster at work then its just a matter of hand finishing them with wet and dry and painting  Already done a set of 15's from a passat they were badly kurbed, a guy in the tool room at work tig welded them for me then we polished them back to profile. came up a treat. Peugeot platinum silver seems to be a good colour for wheels with plenty of lacquer to finish them off :D

ahhh no worries.

I'm going black wheel with a white lip, so don't fancy doing them myself.

Toying with the idea of putting 18's in too, so might not bother lol

Ive seen the standard 16" alloys done with black centre's and spokes with polished rim. looked trick. Wouldn't be sure about black with white rims? Have you seen them somewhere?

There's going to be some good looking wheels about shortly by the sounds of it  . Spent last weekend doing Meguiar's step 1 & 2, step 3 the next dry evening I get. Then plan to do my wheels. Alot of sanding req'd as I let them get into bad condition  . They really detract from the car. Plan to do the refurb myself, but as I've never done it before I'm just hoping they turn out OK.

Now the springs have settled, I'm mightily impressed with the outcome. Really changed the stance of the car ridding it of the gap between the top of the tyre and arch on thre front 8)
