I had my car stolen last night. I reported it stolen this morning and the guard that took the details said it was the 3rd time in a week he's taken details of a stolen FTO.
Thought this was a bit strange, 3 stolen in the one area in a week. So this is just a warning, do all you can to insure your not the next victim.

Crap, very sorry to hear that Karl, and thanks for the heads up for everyone. Its a long shot, but might be worth putting up a brief discription of the car here (or a link to past posts of the car) so we can keep an eye out, can't hurt anyway.
Might be time to change your signature too?

It was alarmed and immobilised. But there's obviously ways around that.

Its a white 1.8 gs auto, Reg 96 D 56849. Will have some damage to rear of car as they hit the womans car across the road as they reversed out of the drive way. It has 17" Lenso 10-spoke alloys and all my tools in the back (i'm an electrician, about a grands worth all in). So not only have they robbed me of my car but also my means of making any money. I'm doing a course at the mo and hav been living off money earned doing nixers. Dont even have the funds going spare to replace them straight away.
I've been remembering things that were in the car through out the day. And the more I recall the worse I feel. There was a sub and an amp, Dvd player/stereo, my bag with all the material related to my course in it, 2 books borrowed from a friend and all her notes (I feel particularly bad about that), a lot of CD's, my ipod, some clothes, football boots. :x

WI know its no help with the books etc but will you insurance cover the other items. Depending on policy it will cover up to 1K worth of audio equipment etc.

Appreciate all the sympathy, thanks lads.
I'm not 100% sure on what I'm covered for to be honest. I went with the cheapest quote at the time rather than going by what I was covered for as I'd been let go from work not long before. (Well that and quinn were the only ones offering a quote for what I'd consider a fair price. €546 TPFT on a 1.8 gs auto, full licence, 6 years NCB and I'm 27. The rest said they dont cover FTO's or wanted 1000's (ie 3 or 4). I assume I'd need receipts for it anyway, I'm not one for keeping things like that.
And to make things worse I'd no NCT.

Thanks Seb, thought of that myself (its not the 1st car stolen from the house, 3rd one in all) The last one was found in ronanstown and the one before was found in lynches lane. I'l have a look down there. They couldn't have got that far there was only about a €5 of petrol if even in her.

Sorry to hear that, hope it turns up soon! Very strange it's 3 FTOs in one area in a short time, hopefully that'll help track them down.

I thought it very strange myself thats why I thought I'd warn everyone. My thinking was either they're being robbed for a reason (ie spare/second hand parts) or the local scum have just taken a shine to them.

Ouch that's rough.

So did you hear anything at all (presume it was after everyone was in bed) or had they robbed it before you even knew what happened. Did the alarm go off at all like ? Not good to hear that they were able to disarm an immobiliser and alarm so quickly and get away with the car before anyone could react.

PS - maybe the scumbags saw your signature and decided to practise on you

So so sorry to hear this Karl. Throw up some pics and I'll put it on octane as well for you, a lot of the Dublin crowd on it. Absolute sickener, I hope you get her back in reasonable shape... :x

YAY just had some good news. I didn't remember doing this but apparently I got NCB protection when I took out the policy so it doesn't affect my NCB at all. (I'm allowed one claim without it being affected) So I'l still have my 6 years. Whoo!!!!
