** New FTO owner from Australia **

Hi all!

I thought I might as well join up to the Irish FTO forum along with FTOOC.org and ftoaustralia.com! You can never have enough info!

I've had an FTO for about 4 or 5 months now and I've already had some ups and downs... In general, I really do enjoy driving it though.

So far, I've fitted Apexi springs, a new intake, JVC 7" motorised screen, carbon fibre centre console and Koyo radiator.

It's been a work in progress and I've gradually cleaned it up to where it is now.

Future mods will likely be a HID headlight kit, LED dash lighting, uprated leads and plugs and new tint.

Anyways, I've noticed that this forum is a fantastic source of information and I hope to contribute some more of my own.

Not totally sure... I think there's a possibility that the car may have been resprayed, even. I'll check tomorrow.

Looks like a normal prefacelift silver. Presume its a prefacelift 4 speed with facelift bumper?

Nope, not the normal silver. Look at the colour difference between mine and the other one.

Also, went to a club meet and mine was a different colour to two others. Apparently there's a couple of silvers...

Yeah, when I heard it had chrome wheels, I was thinking "oh god... this thing sounds atrocious!" Imagine my surprise when they actually looked good!

I've been to Australia 3 times now and its always struck me over the years that it'd be a great place to own an FTO. Good roads, nice dry climate and a motoring public that appreciate that cars don't have to get binned after 6-8years.

You living in Brisbane (think I recognise those shops)?

You're right about the climate, however this summer has been absolutely MENTAL!! Soooooo hot.

The only real disadvantage for the average FTO owner here is the lack of parts we have compared to you guys.

Luckily, I import JDM parts as a bit of a hobby, so I have fairly good access to extra bits and pieces.
