Petrol prices in Saudi

Sorry but I just had to put this up even though I know how absolutely annoying it is!
Obviously this place has cheaper petrol as its practically piped directly into the pumps from the ground they stand on, but its shocking just how cheap it is, the boss filled his jeep the other day at a pump, filled being the word as the light was on, it cost him a total of just over €5 to fill the tank, the price per litre? 8C....
I thought that was unbelievable, then I discovered the price of diesel, the taxi driver I use filled up his pickup one day, and spent a whopping €3 on the fill. When I asked him what price the diesel was, (when I recovered from the shock), he told me.....3C a litre!!
So in other words, you can fill a car over here for the cost of a litre of petrol or diesel in Ireland!

Actually the main supplier of milk is an Irish company. Drank fresh camel's milk the other day, strong stuff!

Now you all know the real cost of fuel -before all the middle men (the government in particular) take their cut.
And of course Saudi Aramco, (or whoever the oil company is over there) are not supplying this out of the goodness of their hearts -they are still making a profit at that price point.

That said it still seems quite cheap -even by middle eastern standards.

Heres the nail in the coffin.....thats the 95, the expensive stuff. The 91 is cheaper, don't know the price of that though. In fairness though most of the cars use the 95, as they should. Aramco are the American oil company who are the largest in Saudi, they practically have the whole of the Eastern province to themselves with the amount of staff they have. Its extremely ironic, from talking to one of the Saudis in the office today, they only got busy in 2007, i.e., when the bubble burst in the rest of the world and particularly in Dubai, people then started looking elsewhere to build and Saudi got busy. Its probably one of the final places on the planet that they are crying out for construction related staff.
