Shell VPower and Maxol E5

Postby Kace » Wed Jun 11, 2008 1:11 pm

Are these still for sale in Dublin. Shell stations are either closed down or don't sell Vpower anymore. Anyone seen any ?

Maxol may be same with E5 - are you guys getting it anywhere ?

most maxols only sell e5

vpower is the same as texaco petrol with tecron, its only better for the car
e5 has a higher octain rating.

oh and theres more than likely be no pertol in any of the shells in the next week or 2 as their delivery drivers are going on strike if issues arnt resolved with another contractor,

The v-power pumps are 'out of service' in the shell down from me. The maxols in cork dont do e5 yet. Fecking annoying!!

This might help, http://www.maxol.ie/general-content/e5-stations.html.
I've seen a marked improvement in MPG since I've started using it :D

hey guys, speaking about improved MPG... I used to get 400km per 50euro (40 litres ish). Now I get 500km per 40 litres (55ish now it costs).
Dunno is it the new route to work (mostly motorway) or the reason I fill at Topaz now. They use an ethanol 5% mix now aswell but have not run an ad campaign like maxol yet.

I've actually fired off a mail to Topaz so I'll see what they say... not much on the web about it at all. Although you can see that Topaz and Maxol get similar tax breaks on the 100,000litres of ethanol they purchase every year.
