Starter Motor problem

Postby IrishGirl » Mon Oct 12, 2009 1:38 pm

Hi All,

Starter motor is making a clicking sound when I turn the ignition. I have 2 FTO's and I swapped the starter mortor from the car that was working fine and still no joy.

The solenoid is clicking but theres no power going to starter (Multimeter). Any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks

Did you check the fuses and relays in the engine fusebox?

Yeah - fuses seem fine but I was searching there for the fuse box layout and have it printed off now.

What fuses might be the problem do you know? I didnt think the starter moror was fused I thought it was direct to the battery?

Just an update - I found the problem - There was a dry joint on the battery terminal and I just needed to peel and re-seed it.

All is working fine now.

Thanks
