Advice on clutch kit

Postby Sebastian » Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:30 pm

ok peeps time has come for my clutch to be changed

last night was the first time i felt it slipping althougt there were strange noises coming from it in he last months .

so i must start shopping before it goes for good.

found this wich seems a good price :

http://cgi.ebay.com/MITSUBISHI-FTO-2-0- ... .m63.l1177

or go for standard OE ?
http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php? ... b0s12p7606

any of you guys have any other suggestions?
Muad how does the aftermarket clutch feel on yours?

thanks

Both clutches shown in the above links are near identical Seb.

If you can afford it - try and combine with a lightweight flywheel - it'll help your 1/4 mile times to boot.

Seb - It's not as heavy as I thought it would be..

hasn't slipped once yet - which is good... Mind you it's been a while since I drove her last so my memory is a bit fuzzy..

I'd defo get one again tho..

any links for that Shane ? or the camskill ones will do ?
to be honest just before the winter holls it's hard enough spending cash on the car now .

Muad did you replace the flywheel as well or just the clutch.

At the time I just did the clutch...

I have a lightened standard flywheel sitting about in a box somewhere..
I haven't had it checked - but the seller claimed it was in tiptop shape...I'm not quite sure what the teeth are supposed to look like on them..

...a lightened flywheel is definately on the cards at somestage...

went for this guy's clutch kit eventually he made me a good offer on it .
it's the standard OE clutch from camskill ( not the fast road one).

hope it will be delivered by early next week so i could have the car 100% healthy for the 4x4 weekend meet .

i bought 3L of gearbox oil is there anything else i should buy ?

I'd get an oil syringe to make for easier refilling.
