Anyone ever scrapped a car?

Postby The Bull » Mon Sep 25, 2006 4:52 pm

Hi guys,

As a matter of interest has anyone ever scrapped a car, and i dont mean " Jaysus i was twisted the other nite, took the car out for a rip and butchered the @rse on the tow hitch of a knackers caravan "

More along the lines of " hello Garda, please sign this form that says the car that i decomissioned with the help of a friendly nomads residence is officially off the road and out of use "

This being the "nanny-est" of states we live in, im sure ill need two copies of my birth cert, a copy of the marital blessing the pope sent to my ma in 1979, and a signed picture of me and Michael Bolton playing tennis in 1989 :P

Any assistance would be appreciated. :?

Bull, all you need to do is post the VRC down to the DoE in Shannon, stick in a note that the vehicle has been scrapped. I'd give 'em a call to double-check:

Vehicle Registration Unit,
Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government,
Shannon,
Co. Clare.
Tel: (061) 365000
Fax: (061) 363480
LoCall: 1890 411 412

As far as I remember you need to get an Garda Siochana to sign it first.
