Points have been in for a couple of yars now, what are your experiences of penalty points in terms of increased insurance costs?

I had a total of 6 points up to may this year,all have since gone i got them all for speeding in my old gt turbo starlet,have noticed since i got the first fto i didn't drive as fast like in the gt as it felt as if i was going fast enough at the 100 klm limit and i didn't need to put the foot down to enjoy the drive like i did it the pocket rocket.Maybe its old age or common sense telling me "nah dont bother its not worth it" but im not going to be collecting anymore fingers crossed

None so far. Should have had 2 for speeding but they were in a company van and I never heard anything more about them after I was stopped. So either they never issued a ticket or they went to the company address, I dont work for them anymore and never heard anything.

I never informed the broker i had them so I don't know how much it would have affected it.I know i should have but touch wood i never had an accident,if i did i would have been screwed on my policy for not declaring them.

I got 2 for speeding in the post.. Didn't pay them before the deadline and when I went in they said its automated so I couldnt pay! That was last November. My previous two court appearance dates have been postponed and Im now up on Oct 23rd. I think the procedure is double the points...

If you can come up with a reasonable excuse as to why you didn't get the letter before the deadline passed you should be ok. If it was sent to a previous address, parents house, and you didn't live there at the time you should just get the 2 points.
I used that excuse for parking fines as they were sent to my mams address as the car was registered there, I'd moved out in the mean time, and in the end the fine was cancelled. Worth a try anyway!
