What's this light that comes on?!

Postby agent s » Wed Jun 22, 2005 11:25 am

I have an orange light that flickers everytime I turn left or slow or brake. Its a rectangle with wavey liquid and a spout coming out the right hand top corner of it. It's the top light on the right hand side of my gauges of my GR. I'm getting the car serviced in about a week or two, but should I send it in now?

Sounds like you have the Ultra Rare G Force meter.
Heavy braking or turning sharp corners will cause it to light up.

These tend to break fairly easy though once water gets into them.

Your talking to a wee girl so I'll ask...

Is this dangerous?
Can I fix it?
How much do these cost?
What the :? are they?
Why so rare?
Is it bad?

Ok - Now I feel a little guilty.
Its not particularly dangerous unless theres a lot of bugs stuck to your windscreen!
Yes you can fix it yourself.
Cost - is something of an issue however I can sell you a couple of litres of the relevant fluid for a few bucks.

Yep - My mate got a set of his Racing Puma Speedlines done - saw them a couple of nights ago - powder coated pearl white - v nice - I'm now really confused as to whether I should go pearl white or black.

Opinions welcome.

Ive charcoal on the sklyline and they look very well. I wasnt sure about it til i say them in the flesh.

I think a dark color would go better with the color of your car.

 its the first car I've come across with a sensor in the wiper fluid reservoir, you just wouldn't expect the car to have one!

A few cars have it in them for the last few years. The last SAAB 93 model had it in the trip computer where it would flash on the screen to tell you. Of course it would display 'Washer Fluid Low' so there was no confusion.

I've also seen it in the last 3 series model.

Trouble is, we don't have the books on the cars. One of the English sites (before here was born) used to have a copy of the dash with all the relevant lights explained. Its how I found out about it but it freaks us all out at first. I like the G-force metre though.
