Chrome dial rings! look the mutts nuts, money well spent and now I just gotta wait for the extra Led's Ive ordered from japan to prevent spotting and dull spots, cant wait for them then interior is pretty much done. fitted new chrome tip nob, just need my pioneer headunit, replacement front speaker and some black car mats and its done until I can afford alacantra fabric covers.

Anyone any idea if I can lower the tip nob? I cut it as low as it will go without any shift problems?

there's still room for tiptronic circumcision, there doesn't need to be much clearance between the shift gate and the lever. experiment using washers under the knob to see if they'll foul the shift gate when you change position. don't forget to put it into tiptronic mode too when doing this.
you just need to cut equal lengths from the inner rod and the outer casing.

how does the unlock button connect to the inner rod? is it the same as the factory setup?

you need to cut off a piece of the old one - a stanley knife will do the trick - about 10 cm back from the button.
