We're looking at a house that needs to be renovated, including a new kitchen and bathrooms. Any got any good recommendations for kitchen suppliers? Anyone fitted or had a kitchen/bathroom fitted recently? Any idea what kind of money we're talking? Anyone got any idea how much granite costs or how it's priced?
The reason I ask is I've had figures from 7k to 20k thrown at me from a variety of different people so if anyone has done this recently and can give me 'real' ballpark figures I'd appreciate it....

I haven't done it myself - but I've heard from several people that you're best of getting your units from one place - and if you're going for a granite work top get it made to order from a stone-cutter place..it takes a bit longer for the process to finish but apparently you get it a fair bit cheaper... worth checking out?

My family run a Kitchen manufacturing business (though I'm not involved) - asking about how much a kitchen costs is like asking how much a car costs - can typically range from 3K up to 20K. A good size kitchen with a solid frame and solid doors (I like maple) - and accessories like stainless steel hob, oven, microwave, extractor etc with a nice countersunk sink on a granite worktop will def cost in the region of 12K - as its the focal point of most peoples houses I feel its worth it - a kitchen like that would be for life - if you go down the route of buying an MDF door and chipboard frame with basic accessories for 6K then you'll end up changing it again in a few years.
We don't do any work in Dublin though - all mid-west based - otherwise I'm sure I'd have been able to help you.
