No, the 4th gen Eclipse released in the US had power figures in excess of 260bhp from a 3.8l MIVEC V6.

The Pajero Evolution puts down 276bhp from a 3.5l V6 MIVEC plant.

Would it be fair to say that the FTO is the most powerful NA Mivec engine in terms of BHP/Litre or am I clutching at straws?? ;-)

1.6 V6 Mivec has 170 odd BHP if I'm not mistaken, which makes it better in BHP/Litre terms.

It was also the smallest ever production V6 ever at the time (and probably still holds the record?)

"Although now out of production, the 1600 cc 6A10 still holds the distinction of being the smallest modern production V6."

Very few standard 1.6 Mivecs (4G92) would dyno at 170bhp....round 160 is more realistic.....Id expect a healthy FTO to dyno close to its 200bhp rating....so tis a close one on the ''most bhp per litre'' topic.

I was mistaken about the V6 Mivec, the 1.6 V6 doesn't appear to come in Mivec form. BUT the in line 4 cylinder 1.6 Mivec IS rated for 175ps.

another thing is that iv always heard of mirages etc. underperforming on the dyno.

but not about the FTO even in the banzai feature the dissapointed owners still put out close to standard spec...

although its appenently not too easy to get past the 200 mark! hitting standard output in a 11+ year old car is quite impressive!

Hmm. I find those Mirage Mivecs a lot less interesting now that I know they're not V6 anyhow ;)

I sold a 4G93 engine from a gs to a guy a couple of weeks ago. He has use the bottom end with a 4G92 1.6 mivec head. Fits straight on. He is now fitting Forged pistons and rods.

Bore of both engines the same but stroke is longer on 4G93. Not sure of power gains yet but will be interesting to see. He is the second guy that has approached me to do this.
