Decent Steering locks.

Postby Dean » Mon May 23, 2005 12:22 pm

Anyone know of a decent steering wheel lock you can get that will actually put potential thieves off rather than them thinking it may just take a little extra time?

Either that or a wheel lock. I would love to get a wheel clamp.

I have one called disklock its free to rotate on the steering wheel which makes it very hard to break off. They did a test in auto express with a car theif and a lock smith and it took 13 minutes to take it off. There also Tatcham approved.

There about €130 in argos

I have one of these too, probably the best on the market, Thatcham and Sold Secure approved.

13 minutes is a lifetime in the context of car theft. A 'good' experienced thief would brake into a car and have it mobilised in a matter of seconds -not minutes.

It's long enough if you're alarm is blaring ;) And like Mustang says, in terms of car theft it's pretty long - I'd say it has good value as a visual deterrant. The scum usually move on and look for an easier target
