First registered after sept 01. Aren't late FTO models very rare in the UK for some legal reason?

Yep, no SVA report for the post 97 IIRC, must have been an official import.

makes the 00 1.8 on carzone for €9,950 look expensive in comparison..

what'd that car cost cleared? I'd guess around €8,000 including VRT and getting it back from the UK.

EDIT: jaysus, €3,321 VRT, so that'd make it around just under €10k on your driveway. still not bad if the reg plate is one of your main priorities.

that leather gearknob, it that a standard item, where could I get one?

If you knows your stuff and you does your homework, you could get a 00 in from Japan for not much more than half that figure.

Possibly an EVO gearknob or maybe a revision on later models.

I think it's a matter of biding your time and waiting for the right one to come up in Japan, personally I'm not fussed whether it's 94 or 00, they're all old in my book.

Evo you say... will have to check it out, one of the few gearknobs that doesn't look cack. presume 5 speed gearknobs from other japanese cars would also fit without too much effort.
