Re: TOKICO RSR Lowering springs

How much does the car get lowered by with these? How old are they? I was looking at getting Apex lowering springs as my next big purchase but if these are similar in mm lowered I will take them off you. Any pics of a car with them fitted to see the results? If I do buy them is there anything else I'd need to get to fit them or can these be put on as they are?

I'd strongly recommend you get a pair of front droplinks before you go swapping springs. even though your FTO passed an NCT, the droplinks may be old and an absolute b1tch to get off. you may have to cut the nuts off to remove the droplink. They're only around €25 a pair and it'll be one less job have to re-do.
Seeing as you're lowering it, you may as well get the shortened droplinks:

shortened droplinks

standard droplinks

I have spring compressors you're welcome to if you want to try doing it yourself

Lowering is similar to APEX ones. I sold a set some time back to Dean, and when I fitted them it looked identical to the Height of my GPX on APEX springs

Thanks Rory, I fitted the springs at the weekend and it looks a lot better. The handling seems a lot better too, not as much body roll in corners but not that comfortable over bumps. I'll get some pics up when I can, was waiting a few days to let them settle in before taking any pics.
I have to say your guide came in very handy Colm needed to refer to it once or twice, getting some of those bolts off was a biatch. I didn't get the drop links as I wasn't expecting to get the springs on so quickly, my sis's fella was working in Tralee and offered to pick them up on friday and insisted we fit them saturday. He's mad I suggested we get the drop links before fitting the springs but he said "ah we'll do them next week". Going to order them later and we discovered I need a track rod end (*edit) on the drivers side too. Dont know how the missed that on the NCT, it was hard to miss.

Re: TOKICO RSR (SOLD)Drop link question

Is there shortened drop links for the front available? I looked at camskill site and only saw the shortened rear drop links Colm linked to. Are the front and rear the same?

You can get uprated adjustable droplinks. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m3b0s10p14944

I ordered a set for mine and have been waiting, and waiting for them.
They should be back in stock in a week or so if you wanted them.

Bit out of my price range at the minute. I mailed camskill and they said :

"Lowered are not applicable to the front

Mike

This cant be right can it?? I would think with a 45mm drop on the front it would be more important the front get shorter droplinks.
Also does anyone know where I can get a track rod end? Cant seem to find them on camskill although I'm nearly sure I seen them on there before. There are some availabe on ebay but would prefer to order them all from the one place if possible.

Thanks Gary. I knew it was there because I found it before but when I went to buy it I couldn't find it. I even searched typing in combinations of track rod end, mitsubishi, FTO and nothing came up. I didn't look in the "FTO tuning spares servicing parts service accessories" section to be honest though it would have been in "suspension" or "drive train and gearbox" section as the CV joint and drop links are under those sections. I thought that as they were all joined/bolted together in the car they'd come in the same section. Silly me :smt104
