CAN-AM SPYDER

Anyone ever owned or ridden on of these. Seem to be rare enough in this country. I love the look of them and if the price was right might invest as a little run around toy.
Can it be used on a car driving license in this country.

If it has 3 wheels I think it's rated as a bike.

Nope, its rated as a trike, a lot harder to insure than a car, comes into the same category as a kit car, most companies wont touch them. Driving licence wise I dont know if its as a car or a bike, trikes are usually a car engine so I have a feeling they'd be licenced as a car, as far as I know you dont even legally have to wear a helmet on them. I know in NZ you dont, and they have the same strict rules about bike users wearing helmets. So you should be ok for the licence.

If a trike has a reverse gear its classed as a car, if not you can ride it on a bike licence.

Steel, I have lusted after one of these for ages.... I would love one... but they are fairly dear in this country I believe.
