I need an aerial as well. The one on the car is one of those strips on the window and doesn't work too good. I like the look of the car as is (with no aerial visable) Could I fit the motorised standard one on my car? Or does anyone have any other ideas on one I could fit.

Simple answer is because the aerial is crap on it and I cant get a decent reception on it. The sunroof was just an idea, I had one in a previous car and liked having one. There was a sunroof and all the bits going for approx €40. I didn't realise the hassle involved fitting it (like having to get a new roof) so its not worth doing.

Make sure the 5v power antenna cable (pink) is hooked up to the stereo correctly.

Is your rear window tinted?

I'm sure there was a thread before that blamed the tint for causing (or at least contributing to) poor reception.

Colm brought this up before, apparently compounds in the tint can impact on signal quality.
