The car would stall in idle while stopped at lights etc.

I reset the ECU by leaving the battery disconnected for 20 mins and tried again - problem was still there.

After about an hour of driving the problem went away though and hasn't re-appeared.

Other thing it turn the aircon fully off and see if that makes a difference.

****RESULT****

Last night I reset ecu & like I said earlier gf reported that it stalled on way to work BUT!!!! when she came home she said after doing around 20 miles on the motorway its perfect Voltage needle does not move at all now SOLID 16v 8) No matter what u turn on it runs fine now   So just reset ecu & drive 40miles+ So happy now & treated her to a nice drink of silkolene

Cheers everyone 8) :)

Mate of mine has an EVO 4. Bought it about 5 months ago and has had nothing but trouble. Minor work on it kept it off the road for 2 weeks (had to do it in his spare time), then a week after that the turbo went in it and took AGEs to fix plus a hell of a lot of cash and now the clutch is gone in it!! Talk bout having no luck..... Anyway back to modding! Tell your girlfriend to buy the parts and you can have fun fitting them

Well ive already took the rusty old airfilter off & replaced with mitsi airbox & aftermarket panel.
It needs a new zorst At first I wanted her to get a really expensive jap can Its what I usally put on my cars But budget is the key here So was looking at that camskill cat-back Is it a nice system? I know it wont be loud But anything is better than the crap on it at the moment its some sort of longlife/powerflow crap with a massive jap stlye tip welded on. No offence if u like powerflow But I cant stand them

Oh im lucky with the evo v No problems Its like new Im first owner in uk Only thing that costs is performance lubricants & AYC changes. But i know they can be bad if u buy a dog Like with most cars though

I have a full Invidia exhaust system on my manual MIVEC and it's deadly. The whole system was replaced from engine to tip. Not really sure what other systems are like because this is my first car that I wanted to mod was never really into it until I got the FTO! Camskill stuff is generally pretty good from what I hear. Trusted supplier. You couldn't go wrong with them really and they have a decent enough range of parts too.
