Squeaking belt

Postby Dragonheart » Wed May 07, 2008 9:44 pm

Oh dear god the bloody squeaking!! Its bloody wrecking my head! I know its not tight enough and just needs a bit of adjusting, but where do I find the tightening screw for it? Do I have to go taking the trims off that protect the belt or can I just access it from above or somewhere?

Are you talking about the alt belt? or is there a pulley on the timing belt that's squeaking?

Alternator belt is an easy adjustment, slightly awkward to get at the nut on the fanbelt pulley itself, need to loosen that, then adjust it from the top so its a bit tighter, and finally squeeze close the nut on the pulley again so it doesn't shift.

You'd see the volts on the meter not up full if its squeaking at ya though...
