Bought an FTO!

Postby Wildhound » Wed Jul 25, 2007 3:47 am

So I finally got my FTO this afternoon and I've done nothing since but drive around the city (and surrounding mountains) and go show it off to friends. It's beautiful dark-green manual GPX with white alloys.

I'm aboslutely stunned by this car and completely in love with it. Having only ever owned a Punto before (this being my second car) you can imagine my shock belting around in this baby. I have to restrain myself. A lot.

It's absolutely pristine inside and out. Particularly inside, the interior is nothing short of jaw-dropping for a car with 100k miles on it. It comes with loads of extras like Alarm/Immobiliser, custom brakes, suspension, intake, six CD changer among other things. Somebody put a lot of love into this car and I plan to do the same.

It also just passed the NCT this morning having initially failed on emissions and needing the cat replaced. However he threw in the old cat because apparently the performance is noticably better with it. I'll have to swap it over and try it out.

It's really bizarre having everybody stare as I drive past. I'll throw up some pics of my own tomorrow!

The only problems are little niggly things like that the rear wiper doesn't work because the disconnected it when adding in a rear fog light when it was in the UK (or something like that).

And that there are a couple of little scuffs in the paint work which really don't bother me because they're not too noticable and car still looks stunning overall.

But generally, after driving it for a LONG time yesterday, there's really nothing I'd change about it. I'm really chuffed.

Stick it in for the "show & shine".

Congrats! very unusual colour alright, only actually seen 2 of them in the 'flesh' myself.

Just out of curiousity, what custom brakes are on it? Hoping to get the Wilwood calipers from the ftooc group buy myself soon...

Yeah it was but it's only been up there a week or two so I don't know if it's the same one? Definitely a good buy though!

As regards the brakes, I'm not sure if the calipers are custom ones, but it's got drilled and grooved discs. I'll have a closer look tomorrow. I keep forgetting to take pictures aswell!
