Throttle Seized???

I took off my inlet maniford cos i was getting ign leads for the Beast,
But i couldnt wait to take it off so, took it off and gave it a wash in the washing machine, came out brand new.

So 3 days later I bolted everything together (today) and noticed the (butterfly) wasn't turning, finished bolting everything together and the throttle pedal wouldnt move,

Didnt try and turn over, got on to you guys first,

So any Ideas much appreciated.

The throttle pedal is connected to a cable that runs into the engine bay. Can't think where exactly. Is it possible you trapped the cable somewhere when putting the manifold back on?

Here we go... Accelerator cable, page 67 of the 1st workshop manual, item 25. It's at the back of the throttle body. Check that, it must be either caught somewhere or not on correctly or something like that.

Checked that, the cable runs on top of the engine block, would it be anything to do with the throttle body sensor?

You said the accelerator pedal wouldn't move, right? It must be something to do with the cable, there is nothing mechanical that stops you pressing the accelerator pedal. Engine on or off you should physically be able to push the pedal in full at all times.

The sensor is electronic, not going to stop you pressing the pedal.

The only other option is something after going wrong with the pedal itself, stoopid question but has to be asked... nothing after rolling behind the pedal blocking it? but my reckoning is it's too big a coincidence it happened the same time the manifold was re-fitted...

i just left wd40 sitting on the butterfly for about 10 min and then just pushed her as hard as i could with my hand and pop she moved and is freed up

Onto something slightly different :

Surely you didn't have to remove the inlet manifold to replace the Ignition Leads ?

Correct - all you need to do is remove the assosiated auxillary connections etc. I wouldn't advise putting a TB into a dishwasher, let alone a washing machine!

I never even noticed that bit - pretty innovative use of household appliances - did it come out super clean or did you have to do some handwashing afterwards??
and whatstate was the washing-machine in?

Yea had to do it on the sly alright
came out superclean and inside it also, where there was alot of black crap.

I just took it off just to do it really and looked inside it and said sure il just throw it into the dishwasher (empty of course)
