Did mine about six months ago, so i dont remember every detail, but i didnt depressurize the fuel line, and i dont recall any petrol spill, or very little anyway, the only petrol there will be is whatever is in the filter, the line isnt under any pressure when the engine is off.
It was easy to remove the old one, except i had to use an impact wrench to remove the top nut which holds the fuel line you can see from above, mine was very tight. Then i removed the bracket holding the filter(two bolts), got under the car and removed the feed line.
To install the new one i connected the two fuel lines first, bottom and top. Then i had to get help, i needed someone to hold the filter against the bulkhead from above while i got under the car and replaced the bottom holding bolt of the bracket clamp, the i did the top one from above.
Started the car and checked for any leaks.
