keyfob reprogramming.

Postby Muad_dib77 » Wed Nov 09, 2005 2:58 pm

I didn't get the keyfob when I bought my GPX..

Does anybody know if it's possible to "reprogram" another fto keyfob to work with my car?
Actually I'm not even sure if I have remote unlocking on my car, does any body know how I'd find out?

Cheers,

Would have thought remote central locking would have been standard on the GPX. Do you have normal central locking when you use the key in the door? I'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal for a Mitsi dealer to sort out a relevant keyfob - its likely to be standard Mitsi OE fare - if your central locking motors aren't working though it will be a different story - you will then also have to go with the "Maplin Motor" fix.

Standard central locking works fine. So I'm suspecting that all I need is the fob.

When I got my alarm it had the fob, and the car already had central locking, so with that I now have remote central locking.

Did you get an alarm yet? if not thats probably the easiest route to go? By the time you've paid mitsi for the honour of buying a part with their badge on it you'll have paid for most if not all of an alarm anyway?

Actually even if you do already have an alarm, they can usually be hooked up to the central locking fairly easily, ask whoever installed it.
