Inlet Manifold Gasket

I'm just about to change my sparks on my GR and realised that I might/probably will need an inlet manifold gasket.

I just got a load of parts already from camskill - I know they don't take long but is there anywhere handier to get the gasket from?

You could always try the mitsi dealer. In my limited experience teh gasket is quite tough, is not under much compression and is unlikely to rip or tear, not sure what it's made of but it's like a hard plastic.

Do I need to apply copper sealant to seal the gasket back in place once I put the inlet manifold back in place after changing the sparks?

No sealant on the inlet gasket... just put it in place and screw down the inlet manifold.. It should be fine to re-use.

It is a metal gasket and I have yet to replace one. Just bolt it back down and torque all the bolts up.

there is a torque setting for everything on a car. In fairness though I would not worry about it for spark plugs. I would obviously use it for a head bolt, but spark plugs are fine if you have done a few sets and know how to seat them right and don't overtighten them to much. tight but not wrung

the inlet manifold gasket is made of a compressed green paper/card material. not metal. but still reusable, its nice and thick.

What about the bolts on the inlet manifold itself? Should I make sure they are set to a specific torque?

The OEM inlet gasket is metal and will seal up fine again. Just tighten the bolts down evenly.

yeah thats the one I ordered the last two times I had the manifold off. Didn't realise it was metal? feels like a compressed plastic/card material of some kind as it is very light and bends/flexes and pops back into shape, metal would stay bent? anyway, not important, but yeah thats the one, its strong enough to be reused.
