Fto door locks

Postby richardc9052 » Sat Apr 23, 2011 11:38 pm

Hi peeps,

Im a bit worried as for the last two night my door has been left ajar on my fto (drivers door) and the interior light on.. i locked all my doors both times and i dont understand how someone keeps getting into it... no damage to the locks or ignition barrel but the door was open twice. I saw a thread on here before about another way of getting into your fto if you locked your keys in, but i have a spare key so i was wondering if someone could PM mee with this info and any way to stop it from working?? i dont have an alarm yet and it has now been bumped to the top of my list of things to do!

I litterally just found it like this for the second time... Cd player left alone, nothing touched.. its like someone is warning me of how easy they are to break into or something... no one else other than me has a spare for it to the best of my knowledge.

Get an alarm straight away.
Also try to park your car in a way that it's difficult to get in or away from it fast and get a steering wheel clamp.

Seen guys who fit a Kill switch or even modify the ECU to come out in a split and take it with them in the house . also you might consider a steering wheel that comes off at a press of a button. But an alarm worths the investment

Ive done a few things that would take them a while to to actually manage to take it, so for now its grand... I think i know how they are getting in though, but im still waiting for someone to pm me the other known way to get in... hopefully i will be able to get an alarm asap, they might let me get one on finance for a few weeks? looking them up now..

Very likely caused by someone with another spare key. The car has probably been owned by 2-4 people in Ireland. Any one of them local to you at all.

Friend of mine had his Audi Allroad nicked once this way. Got it back unscathed with his baby seat robbed, when he came across it parked up about 5 miles away. It was even nicely locked up when he took it back.

It depends on what way you looked at it. Richie had a theory about his insurance situation and several people disagreed with it saying it wouldn't work.

To actually have insurance named on the FTO on his insurance it was expensive.
