needing some tips

hey guys ive only just joined this 2day and im looking to modify my fto abit, i dont want to spend to much money just lookin for abit of extra power and a few bits and pieces to stand out??



heres a pic so any help or advice is welcomed

extra power from a tip GR ? hmm

an induction kit would help a bit and it's a good place to start
decat pipe and an aftermarket cat-back sistem would help as well.
change your spark plugs (denso k20's) and tappet changing might give you an extra push .

if you like to drive her hard you can lose some of the weight (i.e spare wheel , few interior panels/ even back seats ..)

also go for E5 petrol , the FTO loves it .



a for cosmetic things it's really down to you
clear side repeaters,HID's ,gpx skirts, vR spoiler ? dial rings and needle cups , aftermarket dials ,leatherette maybe ?

it all depends how much you want to invest in the car

I seen an ad in the for sale section. A set of side skirts think the guys name is mark. Do a search for DC side skirts and you'll find it.
You could also try the FTOOC (the UK fto club) they have small bits and pieces like, dial rings, stickers, emblems and the likes. Ebay has some stuff on there every now and again.
Ricerocket is a site that does stuff for the FTO. Think they're a member here also.

Definately get the Blueflame quads, you can still use the cat with the quads and you'll get through an MOT.

the full system includes a removable decat section.

shorter exhaust hanger rubbers at the rear (from an Escort) also some bludgeoning of the backbox hanger towards the front of the car.

I rather them to be higher up in the bumper, and not sticking out behind - think they're more subtle

My FTO GPX has a mongoose exhaust fitted and it's pretty dam good. It was already fitted when I got it. It's a high performance twin pipe exhaust. It's has a nice sporty sound but its not over load. They come with a life-time warranty and they cost about £380. Here's the link for it if you wanna have a look.

It would be a good idea do do the cat the same time as the exhaust. An alternative to a decat is a sports cat. A good one is about 95% as effective as a decat but it will pass the NCT with it. It save you the hassle of having to put the cat back in every time the NCT comes around, (and then putting the decat back in after). They are probably more expensive than the decat though. Google them and find more.
