power difference

i have an old GR tiptronic and a new mivec GPX maual.
when you would floor the GR in 2nd gear,she would only fight to get grip for about a split second,but when you do the same in the GPX it is squirming to bite into the road,its almost scary in a fun way.
the bonnet seems lighter on the GPX and the steering feels lighter,i wonder is the front end a lot lighter
