Illuminated keyholes?

Does the FTO come with illumination around the keyhole? I took a handle apart and found that there was a transparent plastic ring around the keyhole and accommodation for a bulb.

On my mothers old 323 there was a system that if you pulled the door handle, the keyhole lit up for 30 seconds so you could find it wasily and not scratch the car. Did some FTOs have this?

Mine's got a light on the ignition barrel alright but not on the door if that's what you mean?

If you look at any FTO door handle, you'll see what looks like a clear plastic washer between the barrel and the door handle.

Maybe the FTO shares its door handles with another model that came with this feature.

I did notice mine has that clear ring around the barrel. Seen this post so I checked to see if mine had the same. It would be interesting to see if it could be made to light up, athough having C/L it wouldn't be used too often. Still it would look pretty cool IMHO.

Just so happens I have a spare door sitting about..

I need to have a look at this plastic ring thing - would be deadly to have them light up when you press the alarm thingie to operate the central locking..

oh no wait..

when would it be a good idea for it to come on? With the cetral light? that wouldn't work either cause that turns off the second you shut the door.. would be silly to hook it up to the ignition powerline as well..as the lights would co0me on when the car i started then..and at that epoint most of us would already be inside the car..

..hmm..

I wonder is this why we haven't actualy seen it yet? that would have had to be some sort of proximity sensor device for the lightey uppey locks to make sense I think.

I guess Mitsi picked remote central locking over the flashy keyholes.

quite possible! although how many pre-facelifts have you seen with original remote locking keys despite all FTOs I've seen having the receiver on the inside of the drivers side quarter panel.
