Always thought of him as a true and true scouser, but for £35m the 'pool could buy 2 very good midfielders, a couple more spaniards for ye're ranks! Gerrard is a good player, but getting £35mill is a sweet deal, he's worth about half that IMHO...

Sad sad day.
Liverpool are going to get a great wad of cash to buy, but buying quality players is damn hard- usually they are not for sale.
Aswell, Liverpool are losing another Local lad, with only Jamie C the only Scouser really left now.
In big games their commitment is invaluable, sometimes you just cant buy that.
I def think we will miss him.

On the other hand, now that he wants to go, I'm happy to see him go. If playing for the team you have always supported, captaining the team to a Champions League win, and being offered 100,000 a week isnt enough, well then Feck off Stevie G.
No player is bigger than any club, never mind Liverpool.
Alonso and another class midfielder should be able to cover.

Shame for the kids in Liverpool who idolise him.....

Well well well , guess he seen sense.....
I hope now he commits 100% and if the team doesnt perform he wont start threatening to run again.

Should keep the Scouser kids happy!

Dunno, this is the second time he's nearly left, once you've got an idea like that its hard to shake. His emotional attachment with the club probably stopped it this time (and maybe the extra 40-50k a week! ) but I'd say they'll be back down this road again next year.

true....true....true...and true again but only time will tell on the position he'll be in next year. thing is if you look at his carear at liverpool he has won everything bar the prem there so i guess he wants to give it one more go for a full house.
