I know I had to put back in orange side repeaters when I had clear ones in my last car, failed cause of it.

The brakes are a real weak point on the VR-4, they're the same as the Evo III setup. I fitted Carbotech front pads (a favorite with the Evo crew)which seriouely improved stopping power. Only downside is noisy. A brembo swap is the way to go, make suer you get all the banjo clips, bolts and brake lines (in fact, I'd swap to SS hoses while you're at it).
You should get an engine cover handy enough, keep an eye on ebay.
The VR-4 engine bay runs very hot, I guarantee you will lose power if you fit an induction kit without adequate CAI. I stuck with the standard airbox and fitted a Ralliart panel filter, way better option IMO.
If you want cheap power, get a decat, exhaust and boost controller. You should easily see 300bhp with stage one mods @ 10 - 12 PSI.
Have you joined the VR-4 owners club as a full member? If not, do it now - their members section is an excellent technical resource for all things VR-4. Hook up with the Irish owners on the forum, they're a sound, well-informed bunch.
