Vac and oil temp gauges

Postby kevinod » Fri Dec 16, 2005 10:53 am

Guys,

got me some new toys... oil temp and vacuum gauges :D

I want to keep the clock + voltmeter (in case of alternator issues), so I'm hoping to do either do something with the radio/gearstick surround, take out the ashtray + move cig lighter to side of passenger footwell and mount them there, or maybe just get A-pillar pods and mount them on there. A bit of work to do to get them to fit either way!

Only downside is they didn't come with the oil temp sender or the pipe for the vac gauge. Could anyone armed with CAPS let me know the part number I need to look for the oil temp sender, and possibly the pipe too?

Also, I'll have to install the sender & pipe in the engine of course, hopefully the workshop manual will have some info on that.

Kev.

Nice one Kev - allways wanted those gauges in the FTO.
If it was me - I'd just replace the clock and voltmeter - but I guess the voltmeter has its uses as well - I'm sure the A-pillar pod will be an easier option than routing around with the ashtray/cig lighter.

So it was you who outbid me.

I would get onto Nomad Racing and get an A pillar pod for the FTO. I got one of these a long time ago.
You may have problems getting a suitable temp sensor for the oil gauge though.

Ah, thought it was one of the ftooc guys I outbid! Hopefully I'll track down one of the sensors ok... although knowing Mitsi it won't come cheap from them!
