Hello guys !

My name is Zak. I'm 23 y.o. and have owned several sport cars in the past.
I recently acquired an automatic GPX imported from the UK to France where I live.
I decided to register on fto-ireland.com as it looks like a friendly and large community with great technical knowledge.
Thanks to some topics, I already solved some issues on my car.

Unfortunately, for some reason, my FTO refuses to start at the moment :(
Here are a few pictures of it :

Hopefully, my problem will be sorted in the technical section :P
Thanks everyone !

Zak

Welcome - everyone must stare at you in France with that car!!

What do you think the issue is with your non-start.

That's right, this car is pretty rare over here.

Well, there was a previous alarm installation which was a bit dodgy.
One day on the road it just stopped ( following a short circuit I think).

After this topic : phpbb2/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3916
I ordered an ignition failure sensor from camskills but it didn't work

I'm trying to clean the mess in the wiring for now (so the dashboard is out).
I took some pictures which I will post in the technical section... to be continued !

Does the car turn over when you turn the key?
Have you checked the fuses, including the alarm fuse?
Have you tried push starting it??

Sorry I forgot about the details :

The car is an auto.
Basically it is cranking but not firing.
I can't hear the fuel pump activating when turning on the ignition.

I checked the fuses too ...

I'm not a mechanic and realise that there are lots of reasons why a car won't start.
However I had a similar issue this year. I diagnosed it to be a MAF issue and when I replaced this with a second-hand sensor for €30 all was back to normal. FTOs are generally very very reliable so I'm sure your fix will be a small one.

First thing you need to do is run a diagnostic check. Search on here for how to do it.

Let us know how you get on.
