Postby Chris_Heilong » Wed Aug 15, 2012 12:58 am

The Phoenix Park Motor Races this weekend, Here is their website: http://www.phoenixparkmotorraces.ie/the-cars.html

I dont see any info about payment so it maye a free event but do explore their website incase I missed anything. Anyone thinking of going?

There are entry forms for taking part in the races, dont know about class of car or any of the details, but they are looking for €400 for the pleasure

Drove at it once, 90 for the pleasure of 15 mins. Never again.

Can't believe it's running again to be honest, the costs of entry are phenomenal. And it's one of the most dangerous tracks, the surface is diabolical.

Rant over :)

That's a drivers point of view, mind.

To watch is good craic, there is a lot of time to fill in between races though. I think spectator entry is free, you have to pay for parking though. If you're doing nothing check it out.

Was there a few years ago when OI was on the track. As a spectator, I would take it or leave it to be honest.

Total Sh!te.

I'm at the Phoenix Park now. Came along because there was a kids event on and I decided to drop over the track. There is more commentating than anything else. The area I was standing was surrounded by hidden marsh. Loads of people (myself included) ended up walking into muddy puddles hidden by grass. I went ankles deep into a sludge pool and I'm just pissed off. Had to walk back to car with the squelching sound of muddy water in my shoes. My feet are dry, but so is my humour at the minute.

Welcome to Phoenix Park races. A friend of mine does the commentary there, he makes it really, otherwise you'd tear your hair out. There aren't many loud speakers though so you can miss a lot of the action.
