Matt Black FTO

Postby Dilogoat86 » Fri Dec 04, 2009 1:12 pm

So, I was thinking about this in my head and it looks great there. But may be not in real life.

Has anyone ever done/seen a matt/satin black FTO. In my head it's satin black with satin black wheels. I may go and do a photochop of that later.

Not mad about the widened arches but Satin Black looks FANTASTIC imho. Had a pisstake of a 1988 Honda Integra with flip lights and myself and Wild sprayed it Matt Black with HellFrauds rattlecans. It looks great actually but we went a bit mad sanding the car down first so there was underpaint rust forming. Sprayed the whole car for less than €80 though.

Haha, no, not a chance. Got the Teg as a complete piss take for €300 literally to paint it matt black, strip it out, chop the springs and whatever we could do to it. Turned out I didn't have the time or the space so sold it for €140 to some guy with hopes and dreams.

I thought about this very recently...tbh I'm glad I didn't spend too long wrecking my head with it cause I saw my car when it was being wetsanded and it looked remarkably mattblack... and dare I say it..balls!

Just looked like a fancy mobile blackboard really..

Theres a few on the Oz forum. Its a jap dude, amazing car. Only thing is that you cant wax it after, it has to be cleaned some other way cause the finish isnt going to be totally smooth due to the type of paint being used. And itll be like polishing a really really fine sandpaper. Not advisable if you want a clean car.

It'd be nice for a novelty but I'd say it would wear off quickly enough.
You'd miss the pride you get from getting the car to a mirror finish.
