FTO manual GPX '99 on Carzone

Postby Aido C » Thu Jul 23, 2009 8:35 pm

I seen this on carzone. The guy who's sell it, is looking for €4400 for it. That seems pretty good for a '99 manual GPX.
Just thought I'd stick it up here.
Here's the link for it if anyone wants to have a look.

too perfect to be real for me. Must be something wrong with it.

Occasionally, cheap cars come up for sale, innocent until proven guilty etc. If anyone does take a look at this car, let us know.

Excuse my pessimism... didn`t sleep well  you`re right who knows what are the reasons for selling... so we`re waiting for more details if someone`s interested in ringing the seller :smt002

Rung him today out of curiousity seeing as Ill probably be selling my '99. Its got no NCT. He claims he imported it years ago and never did the NCT with the car. He also said it needs a slight tidy up but didnt go into detail. It was around Dublin mostof its life and is now in limerick.

Sounds a bit strange. Never did an NCT or never passed an NCT? :?
Either way, it wouldn't give me confidence in buying it.

re: NCT. Mine's never been NCT'd and it's going grand, but if it was up for sale it'd be the first thing I'd do.
Good opportunity for someone who knew their FTOs to pick up a potentially nice car for relatively small money.

How long have you had your current car? is it not a legal requirement to have a valid nct certificate?

I have an NCT booking (for October), which is just as good in the eyes of the law

looks like a clean car to me, if you know your FTO's, get it on a ramp and have a look underneath and you should be able to spot any potential NCT failures!!! If I didn't have the Zed still I'd be interested in this as a weekend or track car....

hey guys. that seems like a really really good price alright. I'm driving a 99 gpvr manual in similar condition (spotless) and would have hoped it was worth more than 5k anyway (cost me 11k in march 07). regarding the NCT thing. I have my car over 2 years and its never done an NCT until 2 weeks ago. It sailed through apart from an offside inner tie rod end. replaced it and it passed the retest. but... I only got a cert until Oct-31 09. :( due to the fact the originally registration date of the car was Nov-1 1999. Ah well. I'll just go back in 2 weeks(will take any cancellation) (your allowed book it 3 months prior to expiry). The only hassle and the reason I never NCT'd it before is I will need to go back to my mates garage and get it on a ramp and swap out the miltek decat for the cat. Ordered two more new gaskets. at least I know when it passes in a few weeks I will get until Oct-31 2011 which will do me grand.

Want mine???

@ Mcgon, I dont think its spotless, he told me it needed a little tidying up.

IPersonally Id be very reluctant to buy any car without an NCT. As much as I complain about it being a bit of a money racket, for buyers it at least offers a bit of peace of mind.

Its hard to judge if its a bargain or nor without actually having a look at it properly . It looks clean from the pictures. Does anyone know the car ?
