Failed but still happy with results

I did nothing to the car bar checking lights where working. Thought I'd see what it failed on and have them repaired as it's not unheard of for a garage to advise a load of unneccesary work based on a pretest that is just advised to earn them more money. (I have had this happen before- advised to replace a radiator with a crack in it later found out that is not covered in Nct) It failed on silly stuff like worn wiper blade, not having alloy centre caps off (didn't know I had to) and the tint on the front windows not allowing enough light in. All in all not bad as I was expecting some bigger issues. I'll get these sorted and that'll sort it for another 2 years.

Alloy centre caps? Since when? I've never been asked about them.
I think it depends on the person testing them, I failed cause of my number plates one year and the next 2 times the same plates passed no bother.
