98 GPvR Aero Mivec Manual for sale [Sold]

Postby scottledeuce » Wed Feb 11, 2009 12:26 pm

OK so I've just heard this week that I've been accpeted into a 2 year masters in Tampere Finland and since then have been having a quite a dilema over what to do with my car.

Part of me says road trip + most likely being the only FTO owner in Finland would be nice but the sensible, "you wont have a full time job any more" side says it's time to think about selling as early as possible

So here it is My FTO GPvr which of bought of JayVersion"R" last September with 117K Km's currently on the clock.

Also It's worth pointing out I would be open to a trade with cash as I hope to remain an FTO owner yet so this may be sutible for someone looking to trade up,

*edit*
A NI redge or non registered car would be ideal as that way I can drive to finland and since I'll be resident there I can take it in without paying a whopping 50% tax on imported vehicles which is even worse than here
*edit*

I've posted Jay's original ad below with all the car details and below is a summary of what has been done with the car since I've had it.

Major service at 110k (after I took ownership)+
Two small fto-Ireland stickers for the side window's

Minor Service at 116K +
Aux belts changed along with all idler and main crank pulley
Two new Goodyear F1's on the front,
Steering control arms replaced and new pads on the back brakes
1 "Mivec" side sticker added as Colm previously pointed out as being missing :D

NCT 01/10

Price €5950

*********ORIGINAL AD AS POSTED BY JayGPvR*************

Great example of a tastefully modded and well maintained FTO.
Price drop of 2k since last Sept goes to show the dip in the market since.

Cheers lads,

Hopefully someone here will show interest as It's not going to be up for sale anywhere else for a while and I'd like to see it go to someone on the site who will appreciate it.

Yea just noticed I left that out.
The car is NCT'd until 01/10

No worries about time, to be honest I'm in no real rush to sell but it's better to have buyers than or be trying to push a car.

If you ever want a look just drop me a PM,
I'll actually be in your neck of the country in a few weeks doing a bit of web design work so let me know if you would like a viewing.

May as well check out how much it would cost you to run the FTO in Finland - you would certainly turn every head.

Nice road trip to get there too ;-)

Cheers Bernard.

I'm not trying to toot my own horn here but on top of a standard GPvR the modifications alone are worth in the region of €5000 if you include fitting/resprays etc.

Granted these are only of value to the correct buyer and I fully accept that finding him/her may take time but It's a lot of car for less than €6000.

As MFFTO pointed out €2K price drop in less than 6 months of ownership is a good (slightly painful) reflection of the market IMO.

When I worked it out I think it came to about €250 per 1000KM since I've had her :(
but I guess there is nothing you can do about bad timing and I just have to accept that.

True, the second hand car market is crazy at the moment.
Some serious value to be had for buyers though.

This car has a lot of attention lavished on it over the years and knowing the history is a serious plus in it's favour.

If I was in the market it'd be hard to look past this, especially for the money.

+1, it really is a clean car.

Who are you telling, I've dropped the price of the VR-4 by 25% in less than 3 months, its definetely a buyers market at the minute.
