Noticed a deal on Camskill - Octane Booster

Anyone have any comments on this... Might get it due to the lack of Super Plus around Limerick.

V Good deal - not as good as Silkolene (increase by 3 Octane points) but a lot better than the vast majority of muck that commonly passes as Octane booster in the majority of Auto Stores.

Actually works out a lot cheaper to put 95 fuel in your car with a bottle of Millers to bring it to 97 Octane than buying 97 Octane fuel at Irish prices in any case.

I dunno, we've had this discussion before, they talk about octane booster adding '2 points' I did some looking into this and it transpires that 2 octane points is actually 0.2 of a RON rating, not worth the money IMO.
What you want is a drum of toluene!

Worth a read:

http://www.sportscarforums.com/archive/ ... -3257.html

It test various octane boosters and reports on the increases that can be realised. Dave, any chance you could get your hands on Nulon Pro Strength Octane Booster?

You may be right with regard to the Millers CJ - however the Silkolene Pro Boost I normally use claims a 3% increase in Octane - I don't have a tin on me at the minute to give the octane points etc but Silkolene products are top notch so I would expect it to do exactly as it says on the tin.

Guys I think there is an error in this add. There are two distinct terms used octane number (RON) and octane points. There is a factor of 10 between the two. I believe this add should read "2 octane" and not "2 octane points" which as CJ said would amount to 0.2 RON.
Bringing 95 unleaded to 95.2 :?
What you need is some of this stuff

I'd be willing to give it a shot to see what what gains can be made - might be a good option for the odd 1/4 mile. Would be interesting to see what difference there would be on a dyno run.

Edit:
Sh1te - Not available for delivery outside UK - wonder if this stuffs avail in Ireland?

That generally just means that they won't/can't send it standard delivery, this is the case with most of the oil, fluids, etc in the DT catalogue.
Generally they will ship these 'hazardous' materials outside the UK, but they only have one courier who will carry them. i.e. delivery is more expensive but it most likely can be got!
If you are genuinely interested drop them a line I'm sure they can oblige.
