alternator size? any replacements

Postby nate » Tue Nov 29, 2005 4:59 am

Hey guys, my alternator went last week and i was wondering if any other mitsubishi or other brand alternator will fit onto the mivec v6 engine?
The prices in brisbane australia are up there.
i am a welder so i can weld on plates to make the holes different.

I checked other posts but couldnt find anything.
Thanks

Hi Nate

The 94/95 GPX had a 75A alternator (p/n MD317515) while the 96+ model had an 85A unit (p/n MD305461), the latter is the same unit that was used in the 95-98 Lancer (CK6A). The 75A unit was not used in any other model.

Thanks CJ

after talking to my mechanic and checking out prices
the 75a will cost $400 rebuilt
The 85a on a fto will cost $440
The 85a from a lancer will cost $180

Thats politics for ya, Cheers CJ now i can get my pads replaced and an engine service and still save money.

No problem Nate, let us know if it works out for you. Note that I was cross referencing the Mitsubishi CAPs parts list, it hasn't let me down before so fingers crossed!
